Nightline Listening Volunteer
Are you able to listen but not judge? Can you give information but not advice? Can you spare a few nights every term to support other students?
Edinburgh Nightline is run entirely by student volunteers, responsible for taking calls and e-listenings, for fundraising, and for the general upkeep of the service. Our listening volunteers are an integral part of our organisation and receive an extremely high level of initial and ongoing training, based around training delivered by other organisations such as the Samaritans.
Session to find out more: University of Edinburgh: Tuesday 22nd January, 18:30-20:30, Lecture Theatre G.03, 50 George Square
Volunteer with Solidaritee
SolidariTee is an entirely student-led fundraiser, started in January 2017 by student Tiara Sahar Ataii. In response to the dramatic decrease in media coverage of the refugee crisis, and her personal experience as a translator and interpreter for legal aid NGOs in Greece, Ataii set up a campaign that both raises money for legal aid, and shows solidarity with refugees.
