Firefly at 20

  • The Playfair Library, Edinburgh University Old College (map)

Scottish charity Firefly International is 20 years old this year. To celebrate, we are creating a new award in honour of Firefly's inspirational founder Ellie Maxwell.

Firefly at 20 is also to showcase our work and to say thank you to our donors, supporters and volunteers.

Please join us on Friday 29th March in
The Playfair Library, Edinburgh University Old College.
It's going to be a great night of words, art, music and wine!

This is a ticketed event, so please click on the link to purchase your ticket. Student discounted tickets available.

The Old Quad of Edinburgh University will be lit up by world renowned artist Bruce Munro's Fireflies installation and the evening will include exhibitions of artwork by Derek Robertson RSW SSA and Iman Tajik, plus words by Marjorie Lofti Gill and music from Kuchke, a polyphonic Balkan choir. All artists and performers are kindly donating their work and time for the evening.

Amal Azzudin who co-founded The Glasgow Girls, will give the keynote speech. 'The Glasgow Girls' work culminated in changing the law on asylum protocols and Amal speaks regularly to young people on youth empowerment.

Firefly International has grown over the last 20 years, making a difference to the lives of thousands of children and their families. Currently we are supporting locally led projects in Turkey, Syria and Bosnia.

Firefly International is a small charity that makes a huge difference to young people's lives, please support us by buying a ticket or making a donation.
